Will you be a “Super Attractor” in 2020?

Will you be a “Super Attractor” in 2020?

How would it feel if you could “manifest” all the things you want in your life?  The perfect mate, the perfect job, the income you have been dreaming about and your dream home?  What would these things look like?  How would they appear in your life?  The beginning of a new year is often a time when people write goals and set a plan for their life for the upcoming year.   As a certified health and wellness coach, I assist clients in carry out this process as well as do it myself.   Writing down goals and desires is something I do at the beginning of each year.   I usually do a reflection of the past year, set goals for the New Year and then develop a plan on how I will “manifest” the outcome I desire.  I often look for books that inspire or provide a new strategy.  One book that really interested me and helped with my strategy for 2020 was Super Attractor, Methods for Manifesting A Life Beyond Your Wildest Dreams, by Gabrielle Bernstein.

How a Patient Advocate Can Help You and Your Physician

How a Patient Advocate Can Help You and Your Physician

Does the time your physician has to spend on “paperwork” and electronic health records take away from the time he or she can spend with you? We think so. Is it reasonable to think that they have unlimited time to spend listening and educating each patient based on their needs and abilities? We say no and it is not the best use of their time and expertise. Could a patient advocate/health and wellness coach be part of the solution for both physician and you, the patient? We definitely think so.

Tips for a Healthy 2020

Tips for a Healthy 2020

We hope you had a wonderful holiday season! There may have been some indulging involved with all the festivities. Maybe you ate or drank more than you wanted. Maybe you were stressed out and didn’t get the time to exercise. Whatever happened is in the past. Let’s move forward into a great 2020.

he Benefits of Winter

What l love about this time of year in the north is the opportunity to follow the trends of the seasons. It’s a time of cold weather now and although it can be a beautiful time to be out in nature, the days are shorter and thus darker and we tend to spend more time indoors

I engage the winter as a time, like my roses and perennials in my garden, to go within and lie more dormant and restful in order to restore and energize my “root system”.  I have found that more profound and lasting changes occur during this season, when you go deep within, whether through more rest, meditation or prayer, challenging yourself to start a new goal, or just learn something new.

The Healthcare System, Hope and 2020

The Healthcare System, Hope and 2020

I was struck and moved by a comment that Ken Lagone, NYU Chairman of the Board of Trustees said on the 60 minutes show last evening with Lesley Stahl. The show was about how NYU Medical School announced it would be tuition-free. Eleven years ago this idea was created in the minds of Ken Lagone and Bob Grossman, Dean of NYU Medical School, at that time. Mr. Lagone donated 100 million dollars and helped raise the additional 350 million dollars needed to initiate this program.

MARKETSHARE - Who's Got It, Medicare or Medicare Advantage?

MARKETSHARE - Who's Got It, Medicare or Medicare Advantage?

The annual Medicare Open Enrollment period seemed longer than usual in 2019. The total period of time spanned from October 15, through December 17. During these fifty-three days, how many phone calls, letters or emails did you receive from different health insurance providers and/or health insurance brokers? Even Medicare.gov jumped into the fray! Each and every touch had a frantic tone, mentioning deadlines, which caused so many seniors, as well as soon to be seniors some anxiety. We know this at Healthlink Advocates, as many reached out and asked us what they had to do. Were they going to have to decide on a new plan? Were they losing their prescription plan? Did they have to make a change? Were they going to lose their health plan? Why were things so hectic and pressing this year? The insurance companies would call it health care coverage – we would call it MARKET SHARE!

The Reason for the Season?

We are in the midst of the busiest holiday season of the year!  Are you feeling overwhelmed or are you feeling a sense of calm and order? Are you experiencing a racing mind or are you in the flow of the reason for the season, finding meaning and joy in the festivities and preparation?

Overstimulated?

At this time of year, we are getting bombarded with messages on retail deals, holiday specials, shiny objects we need to have, multiple parties to attend and arrangements for family gatherings.

Hope for Surprise Medical Bills

Hope for Surprise Medical Bills

As nurse patient advocates and insurance advocates here at Healthlink Advocates, we get regular calls from people shocked by an unexpected and often very large surprise medical bill.  We have had clients call about a $500,000 air ambulance bill.  A $450,000 hospital bill after the patient paid $90,000 upon admission and was told that the employer self-funded plan covered everything after paying

 Medical Bankruptcy

It is no wonder that medical bills are the number one reason for bankruptcy in his country.
